A beta version of the PERIMETER source code for Android handheld devices and the support node is now available online at the open-source hosting site SourceForge. You can find the source at http://sourceforge.net/projects/perimeter/files.
Please stay tuned as we will upload a final version and updated documentation within the next weeks. The PERIMETER source code will be also available on the PERIMETER website shortly.

A report on the entire architecture of the PERIMETER system can be found in a report entitled: “PERIMETER – User-Centric paradigm for Seamless Mobility in Future Internet Architecture Specifications“.
Research into the use of multiple UMTS interfaces on Android is detailed in “UMTS Limitations in Android”.
An account of location determination work from TSSG-WIT is available in “A Comparison of Formulae for Calculating Geodesic Distances between GPS Coordinates for Google Android Devices”.

PERIMETER Final Review June 2011
The final review of the PERIMETER project will take place in Berlin, Germany on 9th June 2011.
As the project nears its end, the consortium are very busy preparing the final presentations, reports and deliverables of the project.
IEEE Communications Magazine Publication
We are delighted to announce that the paper entitled “Enabling Future Internet Research: The FEDERICA Case” has been accepted for publication in the IEEE Communications Magazine.
The topic of the journal is “Future Internet Architectures: Design and Deployment Perspectives” and it will be published in July 2011.
TSSG PERIMETER Webpage Updates
PERIMETER paper accepted to INTERNET 2011
We are delighted to announce that the PERIMETER paper entitled “Towards a Decentralized QoE Layer for the Mobile Internet” was accepted to the Third International Conference on Evolving Internet (INTERNET 2011) in Luxembourg June 19-24, 2011.
This paper written by PERIMETER partners, Martin Dobler (FHV), Jens Schumacher (FHV), Fikret Sivrikaya (TUB), Sebastian Peters (TUB), Eileen Dillon (WIT) and Gemma Power (WIT) focuses on how a decentralized QoE layer for the mobile Internet can be achieved by describing how a QoE model is defined and QoE reports are gathered, shared and distributed in the PERIMETER project.
PERIMETER Meeting – Berlin May 2011
PERIMETER’s eleventh plenary meeting will take place in Berlin on 9 – 11 May 2011.
The meeting will be hosted by PERIMETER partner, Technische Universitaet Berlin.
This meeting will be mainly dedicated to final developments and integration work of the PERIMETER system and to general project issues as the project nears its end.
Eileen Dillon and Gemma Power will represent WIT at this meeting.
PERIMETER in FIRE brochure 2010
The FIRE brochure 2010 is now available. This brochure entitled “An Overview of the European FIRE Initiative and its projects September 2010″ provides an overview of FIRE itself, the first wave FIRE projects and the second wave of FIRE projects.
PERIMETER is part of the first wave of FP7 “FIRE experimentally driven research” and thus features in this report.

Joint PERIMETER and ETSI-HF Workshop
The Joint PERIMETER and ETSI-HF Workshop took place in Sophia Antipolis, France on 8th February 2011.
This workshop which discussed issues relating to the “Standardisation issues for user-centric seamless mobility” was attended by the members of the PERIMETER consortium, ETSI (European Telecommunications Standards Institute) and Orange Labs.
The workshop featured a full day of presentations and discussions on issues such as:
• PERIMETER’s standardisation efforts,
• Scalable privacy preserving storage systems for Quality of Experience,
• Personalisation and context sensitive dynamic user profiles,
• Passive methods to assess user experience,
• Decision making in user-centric networks
• Standardisation of user perception of mobile streaming applications in seamless network handover.
The workshop was sponsored by PERIMETER and organised by PERIMETER partner Blekinge Tekniska Högskola (BTH), Sweden, together with the project leader GFI, Spain/Belgium.
A full report of the outcomes of this workshop will be issued in the appropriate PERIMETER deliverable in the coming months.
